Here’s another reason to get tested for sexually transmitted diseases and to know your status.
Early Treatment = Easy Treatment
Here’s the good news. If you have a sexually transmitted disease such as Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, Syphilis or Trichominosis and you detect it early, the treatment is generally a single dose of antibiotics. It’s simple, easy and noninvasive. That’s it. That’s generally all there is to it.
Late Treatment = More Complex Treatment
Here’s the bad news. The longer you wait and leave an STD untreated, the more complex and invasive the treatment gets. A single visit to the doctor for a dose of antibiotics turns into multiple visits to the doctor for a series of treatments. Instead of pills, you may need shots. More advanced cases might even require hospitalization.
The longer you wait, the worse it gets. There’s no good reason not to get tested now! Know your status!
